What “move-in ready” actually means
Builders use this phrase for completed or nearly completed inventory homes. It is not a legal status. Always confirm certificate of occupancy timing, remaining punch-list work, and whether appliances, screens, and landscaping are included.
Why relocators like it
If you are selling a home in another state, starting a job, or moving kids mid-year, a finished home can reduce the gap between two addresses. The tradeoff is less customization.
What to verify before you write an offer
Current price, incentives, HOA and CDD, estimated taxes, insurance, builder warranty remaining, and any unfinished work. A YouTube walkthrough is not a substitute for a current builder sheet.
